Invitation

All orienteerers, hikers, mountain runners, hill walkers, outdoor adventurers, firms, friends and families are warmly welcome to participate in the biggest Finnish 24h rogaining event 2019 in Vaskijärvi Area, Southwest Finland 24.-25.8.2019.

RULES

IRF rules with deviations announced by the organizer will apply.

EVENT CENTRE

Event Center is located in Yläne, Southwest Finland. Coordinates for guidance point 60.855725, 22.347176 .

24h, 24 hour by foot (Finnish Rogaining Championships)
8h, 8 hour by foot
8h MTB, 8 hour mountain bikes  (Finnish Rogaining Championships)
4h,  4 hour public race.

The teams compete in every class for which they are eligible, for example juniors, veterans, superveterans and ultraveterans compete in open category, too.

PARTICIPATION LIMITS

In 24h, 8h and 8h MTB -classes all participants must be at least 15 years of age. In 4h public race all participants must be at least 12 years of age.

In classes 8h, 8h MTB and 4h age limits can be overruled with the permission of the organizer on condition that a parent of the junior athlete is competing in the same team.

A team consists of 2 to 5 members.

The list of compulsory equipment will be published in Bulletin 1.

REGISTRATION

The registration is made over the internet at www.turkurogaining.fi/sm2019 . You will receive an invoice by e-mail after your registration. Your registration is not confirmed until the registration fee is paid.

Registration starts January 15th 2019.

Cancelled by 31.3.2019: refund 90%
Cancelled by 31.5.2019: refund 75%
Cancelled by 4.8.2019: refund  50%
Cancelled after 4.8.2019: no refund

EVENT MAP

TERRAIN

The terrain includes one of the biggest wilderness area in Southwest Finland, consisting also of large swamps where passability varies from intermediate to impassable. More detailed information in Bulletin 1.

CHECKPOINTS

The visits at the checkpoints are recorded by the teams by using an electronic punching system. The rent of the punching system is included in the fee.

GPS-TRACKING

Some classes will be equipped with a gps tracking system provided by the organizer.

CATERING

Catering at the hash house during the event and after the event is included in the fee.

PRIZES

Best teams in every class shall be awarded a prize.

WASHING, TOILETS ETC.

There are toilets and a First Aid service at the competition center and a washing possibility after the race.

TRANSPORT

We are prepared to organize a bus transport from Turku and Tampere to the event centre if needed. The fee of the transport is not included in the race fee, but the price level will be moderate. From Helsinki there is good public bus and train transport service to Turku and Tampere.
